Here at the Library

Snow today, lots of snow. I thought I’d come to the library to post a little something I had written, but it seems I can’t access the floppy drive at the library. Strange. Does anyone know if this is common practice at other libraries?
It is freezing…freezing cold out. As usual I saw birds floating/sitting on the ice in the river. How can hollow boned little birds sit on the wet ice in a snowstorm and not freeze to it? I expect if I were to examine them closely I would see a small flock of dead birds, frozen and stuck to the ice. They had beat their wings in a last ditch attempt to warm the air enough to free their feet, but alas, like the locusts (3rd story), it was to no avail. Sad, sad little birdies.
Maybe I should send a few cats out for a free lunch.

It happens a lot here, but only because people bring disks formatted for Macs and we don’t have Macs.

When I double click on My Computer, the floppy drive doesn’t come up as an option to
access.

Were you supposed to be allowed to use floppy disks? Sometimes the settings get changed after we install a new program or whatever.

Also, yes, some libraries just don’t allow use of disks for fear of viruses.

It had a floppy drive…maybe they just didn’t take it out.
