“Courage”
By Roger ~ February 28th, 2006. Filed under: Get To Know Roger, Poetry.
We meet every day
I have so much I want to say
Were I not so afraid
I could tell you these things
Your eyes, they envelop me
I never know how much you see
Had I the strength
I could tell you these things
When you smile, inside I smile too
I wish I could say to you
You’ve captured my heart
Would I could tell you these things

This is poem #11. I like this one. This poem was originally written to be a song. These are (probably unfinished) lyrics and I have the music in my head, but no musical talent for it to go any further.
This poem is about the infatuation one person has for another they see on almost a daily basis. The basis is shyness. A shy person has the hardest time sharing their deepest feelings. For me, it was/is because of the fear of rejection.

Yeah, Roger, I like it. The repeated refrain “I could tell you these things” strikes a chord somehow.

Chris, thanks for the kind words and, more importantly, commenting at all on some of my writing. Very few people take the time to read, digest and leave comments. I’ve been looking to add some more rmfo-blogs to my Sage feed…
Julie, same to you, without the link suggestion!

Roger,
I read a lot but don’t comment very well. I’m working at it.
