2008 Vacation, Day 1
By Roger ~ May 18th, 2008. Filed under: Vacation.
I have transported my wife safely to her vacation destination. I’ve signed up for week-long internet access while she soaks in the jacuzzi in the master bedroom.
Why is it that low-rate hotels and motels will provide you with free wireless internet access, but the last two resorts we’ve stayed in charge us $30 per week? My mother must not be paying enough for this resort. She’ll love to hear that.
Some highlights:
We never get leaving as early as we plan. Especially when we’ve been busy all week.
I followed my instincts instead of my wife’s interpretation of the vague directions. I was right, but I was in the doghouse until I fed her.
People in south-western Maine don’t concern themselves too much with whose lane belongs to who. If they need to be in your lane, you’d better move over.
Why, why am I perpetually drawn to the Chicken Coop in Mexico? We actually ate there this time.
Vermont still has very scenic roadways, but the natives driving behind you don’t like it when you’re only going the speed limit.
