Knight

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Evil cannot stand up to a knight. I’ve seen them, coming into a town on business known only to them. There is a strange, otherworldly presence about a knight. There is a brilliance that exists even if his armor is dented and dulled.
Bullies, waiting in ambush to harass those who are too [...]

BBC News:
Russian squirrel pack ‘kills dog’
Squirrels have bitten to death a stray dog which was barking at them in a Russian park, local media report.
Passers-by were too late to stop the attack by the black squirrels in a village in the far east, which reportedly lasted about a minute.
They are said to have scampered off [...]

After the Battle

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Damien snuck down the basement stairs at midnight. The third step from the top had a loud squeak, but he was well aware of this and made sure to step on the very edge. It would be hard to explain why he was there, if caught.
Damien’s next challenge was to move the rack [...]

Project Complete

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

I finished cleaning under the computer desk. It looks very neat and organized.
Now the only official project that I haven’t completed is the one someone else is helping me with. I should find another project for this week, but I’ll probably skip that until next week.

Impending Squirrel Attack

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I type with my shades down today, as increasing numbers of squirrels canvas my house. In deliberate facade, they peek under fallen leaves for the acorns [...]

Aftermath

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Frendei stood in the rain again. The puddle ahead was too large to circumvent, so he sloshed through, uncaring of the wetness that seeped into his boots. Hobbly was a wreck and some of his new friends were dead. The rain fit his mood perfectly. It also put out the last [...]

Another Failed Project

Friday, October 10th, 2008

We are now planning on spending Saturday helping my father-in-law move instead of insulating and finishing the garage wall. There is no time for another project this week (trust me, I’ve seen my schedule).
I have next week off. We’ll see what I can manage then.

POW: Garage/Living Room Wall

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

I totally neglected last week’s project. I didn’t do a single thing to organize under the desk. That project will have to go back in queue.
This coming Saturday, my father-in-law is supposed to be coming over to help me insulate and seal off a wall between my garage and my living room. [...]

Dear Snickers

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

What happened?
You used to be delicious and filling. Now you taste stale and bland. Did something happen to your once fresh peanuts? They used to tumble around in my mouth like a salted massage roller, caressing my inner cheek and gums. Now it tastes like you’re using left overs [...]
