Hobbit on the Rocks
By Roger ~ October 26th, 2004. Filed under: Parodies, Religion.
The original lyrics: Toad the Wet Sprocket’s “Hobbit on the Rocks“.
Admittedly, that was the silliest song that Toad ever recorded. Since I like my song to have meaning, I decided to take their song and make my own lyrics. I started out trying to use words that rhymed with their words, but ditched that toward the end. If you are able to listen to the song before reading this, you will be able to follow better. If I had my own band, I would definitely play this cover parody.
Sinners On The Earth
There’s an old appropriated tomb
That has been idle of late
And even though it was on loan
They did not have long to wait
Don’t criticize what all heaven would prize in you
And talk to your Lord if you feel you need talking to
And the sinners on the Earth are crying
And the Savior on the cross is dying
There’s a storm brewing in Galilee
And a mighty crashing wave
But when the ship would sink into the sea
He then told the wind behave
Don’t criticize what all heaven would prize in you
And the sinners on the Earth are crying
And the Savior on the cross is dying
And the sinners on the Earth are crying
For the Savior, His last breath He’s sighing
Don’t criticize what all heaven would prize in you
And talk to Jesus if you feel you need talking to
Let me know what you think
