All work and no play (and bronchitis) makes me a dull boy.

I suppose I’ll elaborate a bit. The above was all I origianlly posted…

This week (Tuesday) I began my training at a live computer (last week was a training computer…we couldn’t mess anything up in the real system). Tuesday I also woke up with what I know is bronchitis. I don’t know how wimpy you readers are, but let me just say I’m coughing up thick, brown stuff and I’m not sleeping well. What a grand first day yesterday. Today I’m just as bad, but also on my way to work from class I had a slight delay on the interstate. When I left campus my tire was making a weird noise, like the sound of a child who tapes a playing card in their bicycle spokes. I’m not a mechanical expert. I’m whatever is lower than a novice. So I thought ignoring it might be the best thing to do for the time being. On the interstate, halfway to my destination, the sound stopped as something thudded against the bottom of my car. Yikes. I thought “I hope that wasn’t an essential piece of my car,” and drove on. A couple of miles later, right before I switch highways, my back passenger tire starts moving in odd ways and making weird noises. I know the noises are weird even though I am less than a mechanic novice. So I pulled over. My tire had multiple blow-outs all around it. Strange, I wonder how that happens? Probably had something to do with the ‘playing card’ that broke loose a few miles back. I changed the tire and went on my merry way. (Note to everyone out there: Always carry a spare tire! I’ve had 4 flat tires in my life and have always had a spare. It would have been horrible if I didn’t have one…now I need to replace one ASAP…)

I had been feeling better, but I got to work exhaused (that reminds me of Rofle’s joke in a Muppet Christmas/Reunion: I followed a truck all the way here, and boy am I exhausted!). My trainer spent most of my time there on her lunch break, but I managed to get a fair amount of newbie work done. Now I’m ready to go home and get some R&R (between church and grocery shopping on the schedule for tonight).

Sounds like a trip to the Dr. may be in order unless you still have “friends” who have “access” to a Z-pack. It would be worth the trip. Sounds like your trainer has a cushy job- a good part of 4 hours “at lunch”. I’d like to sign up for that job!! Mom:rmfo:

I’m trying to ride it out. I think I’m getting better…besides the cough that wakes me up in the middle of every night.
