Oh, No! There’s More!

Now signs are springing up telling me to “Vote No on 1!” That’s great. Wonderful of you to tell me what to do. Now the only problem is that I have no idea what “1” is. I looked on the State of Maine website last night. Do they list any of the Referendum questions? Nooooooo.

Usually I have to know what the question is before deciding what to vote, but I think I will vote No on 1. Not to make the signmakers happy, though, but because I think No is becoming a very smart vote. The questions usually have something to do with “Do you agree to make this new law…” or “Do you agree to appeal this old law…” or “Do you agree to the State taking out a loan to pay for this…” Right now, I’m not for any of that stuff. Stop making new laws and repealing old ones until we’ve all had a chance to sit down and have a good long look over things. Stop taking out new loans until the old ones are paid off. The state government’s financial records look worse than mine…and, to me, that’s saying a lot!

If I write many more of these, I’m going to have to start a politics category. 👿

(PS Don’t be afraid to comment on the political posts.)

‘1’ is a new law: “All men named Roger will receive a large check in the mail.”

so I guess you should vote no.

  2. Roger says:

Hey, I might vote Yes for that! Too bad with all the vote No signs around, it will never pass.

    #1 is the Tax Cap…

    Vote No…

  4. Roger says:
